How personal and heartfelt is your video, David. Even after decades of daily meditation I drink in your reminders of its life-giving and transformative effects, and its centrality inmy life. It is the path less traveled for which my gratitude knows no limits. My world is so very enriched by your own work and purpose. I felt like you were speaking directly to me. Thank you! What Buddhism brings to my Centering Prayer practice is mind management, self giving, and greater appreciation for myself and others through lifetimes. Kathy
Thank you so much for your beautiful message, Kathy! It makes me profoundly happy to know that this work is resonating so deeply with you on your own inner journey!
Happy New Year to you, David, and Koala and all the beautiful people who read your books and to all the animals and people who work with so much love and compassion in the lovely charities you support. Thank you for letting us be a part of that! Looking forward to more good and delightful things in 2024!
Thank you for the lovely video. Your words about understanding that our reality is from our minds and the uncommon-ness of that understanding really struck me. I often forget that not everyone has that knowledge. I am grateful to have discovered it, and you, and the Dalai Lama's Cat. I'm spending my New Year's weekend curling up with my two cats, many cups of tea and The Claws of Attraction. Putting all this together, I will think of wishing everyone the understanding how the mind can create happiness in 2024!!
I'll watch the video on the 6 week meditation opportunity and expect to join. Thank you for all you do. May faith, hope, prosperity, peace and joy be anchored within you throughout this new year. With gratitude, love and light from Deborah 💜🙏🏻📿🧘🏻♀️
Many thanks for your video message and 20 minute video encouraging us to continue with our meditation practice.
For the last two years I have been feeling very nostalgic over the festive season, remembering past Christmases with family members who are no longer around. I am trying to live in the present, although I find it difficult at this time of year. Happy New Year to you, David and everyone here.
I think many of us are prone to nostalgia at this time of the year, Wendy. You are right about living in the present and also trying to keep the focus off ourselves. Here's wishing you all good things for 2024!
Dear David, thank you so much for reinforcing my meditation practice. Proof that I, and others, need to visit your site frequently. Unfortunately I'm able to meditate only in the afternoons but am still managing to gain real benefits from so doing and including it in my often hour long sessions during which time I recite the daily prayers, study from books and/or videos and chant a mantra. Incidentally my 13 year old Corgi joins me every day and I'm convinced that he is benefitting as well. With best wishes for a long life... Susan
The afternoon is perfectly fine, Susan. And if your little corgi is happy to settle with you, then that makes it even more special. I grew up with corgis and have always had a soft spot for them! Wishing you happy and healthy long life blessings too!
You have been a comforting and wise companion via Substack this year. I've learned much from your writings and have just finished reading Hurry Up and Meditate. It was such a simply elucidated book on the whys and wherefores.
I've been meditating for a number of years, still claim to be an utter beginner but this book may well have moved me to a more competent level. This last week, I've had the experience during three meditations of being as soft as butter but very aware of breath and body. It was illuminating.
Here's to 2024 being all things to all sentient beings and thank you again.
"Soft as butter" - love that expression. I often reflect that such experiences as ths, glimpses perhaps of our true nature, are what keep us going through the more pedestrian sessions. I rejoice in you experiencing it, and may you have many more such illuminating moments! With heartfelt thanks.
I'm so appreciative of your wisdom, compassion and generosity. Being able to write about such virtues is one thing, but living them as you do is a whole different level of attainment. I feel humbled and blessed to have connected with you.
Thank you for such a valuable reminder, for such helpful guidance. Your writings and recordings bring such comfort and upliftment and I'm so blessed to be part of this community> Thank you, David. 🙏🏼💖
Thank you so much David for enriching our choices for meditation and commitment for the new year. Blessings for you, your family and your continuing practices. We are all benefiting.
I want to wish you a Happy New Year, I hope with all you loved ones.
Thank you so much for all this year with your enrichened messages. Thanks again and hope 2024 will be full of blessings for you, your loved ones, the persons that Works in Africa and the elephants and all the animals.
I love all your articles, David. However I read them at the library, and cannot hear videos. Would it be possible to provide us with a written version of the information of this video? Thank you so much for all you do. I wish you, your family and all sentient beings a happy & healthy New Year!
Thanks so much for your message, Barb. My message videos are unscripted and ad-libbed around a few points. I will see if there is some method for Substack to show subtitles. Wishing you and your loved ones all good things for 2024!
