Dear David, I am very grateful for the opportunity to contribute in such meaningful, material ways through you and your work. It is an honour and I send heartfelt thanks.

And it all started when I read a book about a cat!

David, My life is enriched by your substack - by both the weekly essays and the knowledge that I am helping animals and humans that I might never meet.

Dear David,

In addition to my work as Zen teacher for 30+ years, I was a teacher/librarian for 3-14yr. olds for 33 years. I love the fact that you are finding ways to support this school, but am wondering if there are other ways for us to contribute usefully?

With gratitude, Misha

Thats very kind, thanks Misha. Sadly, with no postal services in Zim, physically getting stuff to the school is quite a mission. But rest assured there other some very savvy supporters helping the school as of this year.

Thanks David. I am already a subscriber, how can I get more money to you? I've gotten all my Buddhist friends to join.

Visiting the school last summer was such a privilege and so eye-opening.

You are too kind, Penelope! Inviting friends to subscribe is wonderful thank you. And we are actively setting up a means by which donations can get through to useful causes in Zim from USA, UK, AU and elsewhere. As soon as this happens - the ball is in others' court - I will do an update!

David one regret i have is that when Scott and i did our mindful safari, the school was on holidays and we missed out on a visit. Glad to see your ongoing work bearing fruit, so to speak!

I have worked on education programs in Rwanda and DR Congo, so I very much understand the depth of need and also the enormous reward of the work you are doing in Zimbabwe.
