The newsletter today really speaks to me. I can apply two sections to two different recent events in my life that have given me uncertainty. I first started to wonder if I'm reading too much into the similarities. But then I thought, maybe I don't need to question why these messages were shared so timely. Just accept the gift and don't question it. I am grateful and filled with peace. Reading your newsletter is the highlight of my weekend.
What a beautiful message, Stacey! My heartfelt thanks. You're right that over-thinking things can sometimes detract from simply experiencing them with gratitude.
Thank you for these wonderful stories about living with lamas. And for sharing my story about Gelek Rimpoche. Aren’t we fortunate to have known these great teachers as real people?🙏
Thank YOU so much, Cyndi for sharing your stories too. We are, indeed, so fortunate to have encountered these last of the old school lamas who trained in Tibet. They were so grounded, so real, and so inspiring in their authentic and disciplined practice of the Dharma.
Thank you David for these real life stories and the insights within them. On one level apparently simple yet so powerful. It is marvellous that Murphy was protected by the bull elephants and that Moyo is able to once again fulfil her caring role. Huge respect and gratitude to the awesome rescue team.
I look forward to your sat. conversations and stories. I enjoyed all the stories today, but the first one was stuck an affirmation. It said to continue the faithful daily learning…not pressing or running ahead…just keep being in the present with faith that all that I need will be provided for in its time. thank you also for the update on the reserve…such wonderful work
Thank you so very much, Pauli for your message. I agree that the temptation for many of us it to want enlightenment now - or at least a dramatic breakthrough! But if the Buddha is correct, this is the unfolding over lifetimes, and this precious, human one of leisure and fortune offers us scope to do so much ...
I was so moved by the story of the orphaned elephant, the protection offered by th bulls and the nurturing provided by Moyo. It is a lovely story and shows how complex elephant society is.
What a heartwarming story David, thank you for sharing Murphy’s story! He’s certainly landed on his feet at Panda Masuie; maybe he’ll become friends with Summer! It was a wonderful experience visiting PM in August; how lucky am I, and how lucky are all those beautiful elies!
Thank you too for the piece about living with lamas; I’ve been very stressed recently and just reading quietly through your weekly emails is a huge help. 🙏🏻🪷🐘
I am so sorry to hear about you feeling stressed, Jane. I really hope that you're feeling a little easier and lighter .... I agree, our time at Panda Masuie and on MIndful Safari in general was quite extraordinary. Warmest wishes, David
I appreciated the stories and update on the re-wilding site. I enjoyed that so much when we were there in July. It was the highlight of our excursions. I suspect that is due to already feeling connected through your blogs and knowing we contributed through your efforts. THANKS!
It is a special place, Penelope and a highlight, I so agree. It is wonderful how such a remote place and its inhabitants can be the subject of such intense connection to people around the world!
Keep the stories coming. We just lost one of our lamas due to immigration problems. I’m quite sad and hope he can return to Emaho, our center in Phoenix, AZ, ISA.
Thank you David for these different and wonderful stories. Your writing is beyond description in my vocabulary. Your stories go right to my heart especially the baby elephant. Thank you for sharing with us it’s always an awesome read! Blessings 🙏🏽
Thank you David. It is certainly eye opening being with a Lama.
Because I had a nice motor vehicle I often used to pick up Lama’s from the airport and deliver them back to the airport. Of course while they were the Johannesburg Samye Dzong, I used to spend as much time as I could with them. It was wonderful.
Yes we get too strung out trying to be enlightened instead of just putting in the practice as best we know how.
I am happy to hear Murphy has settled down. Poor chap, sounded very frightened.
I am coming into my third week now have trying to guide my wife through the bardo. Not an easy thing to do, but I am glad that I have the opportunity to try.
Hi David. I am playing “catch up” with emails this morning. Life in general sometimes does not allow for everything to be achieved in any given day & sadly things have to be put on the back burner. Thanks So much for your continued articles & uplifting reading regarding the beautiful creatures in the wild who need our intervention. Such caring is overwhelming & enviable.

You're quite right, Mary, they are complex and extraordinary creatures. I plan to bring more stories to you in the weeks to come ...
Thank you for the gentle reminder to be patient with ourselves. Thoroughly enjoy the rescue stories. Animals teach us so very much.
Indeed they do, Kim! Thank you for your kind message.
Thank you for bringing upliftment, wisdom and inspiration to our weekends, David. 🙏🏼💖
My sincere thanks, Sharadha!

Does my heart good
So glad to know this, Chris! I always remember you emerging from the mists of Victoria Falls in that amazing sunshine!

Where, in Queensland, is the Chenrezig Institute?
Keep the stories coming. We just lost one of our lamas due to immigration problems. I’m quite sad and hope he can return to Emaho, our center in Phoenix, AZ, ISA.
Thank you so much, Tiah - let's hope you can sort out the visa situation. Chenrezig is about an hour's drive from Brisbane near the Sunshine Coast.
Thank you for sharing more stories and insight about living with Tibetan Buddhist teachers, David.
And thank you for Murphy's story about his progress too.
My great pleasure, thank you Wendy!

You really are too kind, thank you Pamela!

Thank you so much for sharing, Peter, and I continue to remember you and your wife in my meditations.
Thank you so much. Her 28th day in the Bardo has just passed and I am following her with my Chenrezig prayers.
So good…are you sure you weren’t the young man?
I love love love baby elephants! Thank you David.💗🐘🐘🐘🐘
I wasn't, as it happened, but I could well have been! Thank yoiu Adrienne!
