It is a relief to see that Qantas has picked up the Perth to Jo’burg route that used to be operated by SAA. Along with their Sydney to Jo’burg route these offer some of the most direct ways for Aussies to join us.

What to expect on Mindful Safari

Mindful Safari includes:

·         Mindfulness teaching and daily guided meditation sessions.

·         Daily game drives with our experienced safari rangers.

·         A private bush walk led by our seasoned guides.

·         A visit to a local primary school and the chance to engage with the children and staff.

·         A sunrise visit to Victoria Falls and tour led by an expert local guide.

·         Talks from local conservation organisations on the work being undertaken to protect the local wildlife and their environment.

·         Sumptuous meals, the majority of which will be vegetarian with options for meat-eaters;

·         Personal time for you to enjoy your private wilderness tent which offers peace and seclusion along with creature comforts.

Explore the nature of your own mind

Each day will include teaching and meditation sessions led by David, some of which will be held out in the bush.

During the safari David covers the following main subjects:

·         What are mindfulness and meditation, and how to practise them.

·         The benefits of meditation – physical and psychological.

·         Tips on how to cultivate a meditation habit.

·         How to apply mindfulness to daily life.

·         What is the mind and how to experience it directly through meditation.

·         Healing and the mind.

The program has been tailored to the environment – our analytical meditation sessions help us recognise the intimacy of our connection with nature, and how we share, with these extraordinary animals a collective dependence on the earth.

What do other Mindful Safarians say about their time in Africa?

If you have been keen to visit Africa, but are travelling alone, or are a bit apprehensive, Mindful Safari is a great way to join a group of kindred spirits in a safe, welcoming and nurturing atmosphere.
