Very interesting this teaching, that I found thanks to your link about How do we know a thing? The Three Wisdoms. It reminds me of a Jon Kabat-Zinn CD that I purchased years ago, Mindfulness for beginners, where, amongst many other things, he talks about Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, the words of Shunryu Suzuki. That teaching, and I haven't read the book, those few words, have stuck with me ever since and I try to practice this teaching as much as possible. Thank you David for this teaching, and all your teachings - they are all interesting. So much to learn, I just wish my brain would function better in order to remember them, and practice them for myself and all living beings. Thank you!

Many thanks for your kind message, Sheena. There really is so much to learn and what you express sums up the way so many of us feel - wishing we could more effectively integrate these teachings into our lives.

My teacher, Geshe Gelek Chodha, as well as Lama Zopa Rinpoche, from the FPMT, always used to say " Check it out!". When I heard them say that the first time, I was like " Wow! He's not asking us to accept what he says on blind faith! ". I was so impressed. This really spoke to me ( maybe because I always am asking "why?"🤣) As does the concept of the 3 bowls! It TOTALLY makes sense!

Thank you 🙏

Thanks Marianne. It was a relief to me, too, to discover in Buddhism that intellectual rigour, debate and scrutiny is held to be far more important than simple belief.
