Watch these wonderful messages of nature!
I received a really special, six minute video: “Reconnecting with Nature,” which I want to share with you. It was filmed and produced by Dr. Shelley Plumb of PlumbTalk Productions in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.
Over the past few years, Koala (my wife) and I have got to know Shelley and her husband Jon on our visits to Africa. One of the truly wonderful things about Mindful Safari is the people you meet from around the world, who come with shared interests, open hearts and minds - and some quite amazing skills and backgrounds. Friendships are formed which endure well beyond the short, but bonding week we spend together.
In Shelley’s case, she left the medical world some years ago to follow her passion for video production. She produces amazing work for a wide range of clients and causes close to her heart, and it’s rare to see Shelley without a camera in her hand, or somewhere nearby. Here is one of those occasions:

Shelley recently suggested I write and record a script for a short video, highlighting the key themes I like to share about reconnecting with nature. She has filmed a huge amount of video material on her Mindful Safari visits to Africa and she very kindly offered to draw on this material to produce a mini-documentary.
When Koala and I watched it, we were both deeply touched. Shelley has captured so many beautiful moments and skilfully woven them together to create this six minute meditation on reconnecting with nature.
My heartfelt thanks go out to Shelley for her commitment, artistry and generosity in making this short movie. To all who appeared in it – like Mrs. Moyo, the Headmistress at Masuwe Primary School, along with her staff and children; Danielle Connolly, Founder of Prana Africa Yoga; Caisias Tembo and the whole Masuwe Lodge team, and of course all the Mindful Safari participants who joined us, making it all possible.
Most of us can’t get anywhere near the African bush right now in person. With this video, we can at least visit this extraordinary place in spirit – until the borders open, once again.
So sit back, close your eyes, take a few nice, deep breaths, and when you're ready, click on the link to watch Reconnect with Nature below.
