September Update

As we near the end of the month, I want to share a brief update on some exciting things planned for the future. I also want to let you know how far we have come this year with our charitable donations.

This video has captions. To read them you may need to enable them by clicking the three dots on the bottom right of the video. Make sure that Captions are ‘On.’

Since launching the Michie Foundation last December, we have collectively donated US$90,000 to our three supported charities. Of this total, I have donated US$53,000 of the money I have earned from your subscriptions. You have also make direct donations to the charities of $37,000. Your generosity is very much more than I had ever imagined!

In the interests of transparency, I want to share the graph below, showing how much we donated each month since last December.

The above chart is an interim report. I plan providing figures for this full calendar year early in 2026, with breakdowns for each charity. The figures shown are lumpy because both my subscriber income and your collective donations are lumpy.

The following actions can help our collective fund-raising efforts for the non-profits we support. As donations to the Michie Foundation and our approved projects can be tax deductible in USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands:

  • Employers that offer ‘matched giving’ programs may be willing to also contribute in addition to your own donations;

  • Any organisations with funds available for philanthropy may be willing to help;

  • With the US financial year ending on 31 December, please don’t forget our projects when deciding on potential beneficiaries;

  • Instead of giving friends yet another scented candle for a Christmas gift, how about a donation in their name?!

If you wish to donate to our supported non-profits at any time, you may do so via the following links:

ROKPA Support Network - providing educational, healthcare and financial support to some of the most vulnerable people in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe

ROKPA Support Network

Twala Trust Animal Sanctuary - supporting indigenous animals as well as providing free food and vet care to dogs living in extremely disadvantaged communities.

Wild is Life - home to the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery, which rescues and re-wilds baby elephants who have been orphaned, often in the most traumatic circumstances.

The Michie Foundation exists solely to funnel donations to the three non-profits above. If you can’t decide which of the three worthy organisations you’d rather support, donate to the Foundation and we will allocate funds for you.
