I loved this as much as when I read it the first time in the book. Our own Mma Mkutsi goes to my meditation spot every evening, forms a perfect meditative loaf, and waits for me. She seems to start on time whether I do or not.
If I get delayed in another room by some "frivolous pursuit," she'll finally get up, come to the doorway, and silently stare at me in an intensely judgmental way until I get up and go with her to start what's become our shared practice. :)
Fabulous story. My not-quite-two pup has amber eyes with the wisdom of the ages deep inside. He stares at me sometimes so intensely and I always ask him, 'what are you trying to say, little man?'

Love it! You are truly a great story weaver David 😊 And yes this is true of horses too I've discovered. They love being meditated with. And communing, and they also point to places of stress in the body and sometimes will help release it. Very amazing what one discovers when one slows down. A whole other world of languages.
Hi, what a delightful little story. I have your book and I need to read it. I'm a cat lady and a sucker for cat stories. Tommy and I enjoy alot of quite time together, and have a conversation with each other. Mainly me doing the talking about how beautiful he is. I shall learn to shut my mouth and listen to him. Lovely story, David and my two cats always join in meditation. We need to pay more attention to what our pets are saying too, although as my cats are Bengal girls, they sure have a lot to say at times!!!
David, that was a super good story and so aptly timed. I’ve been wondering why my cat stays in the bedroom most of the day while I have music on the TV or a tennis game. She always comes with me to meditate but I will be more closely attentive now. Many thanks for your wonderful stories and updates. I love the baby owls. Also the cat and the parrot is especially. 🙏

I love your book of short stories. The one that stayed with me the most, and that I've talked about to others, is the one about the mortuary. It really hit home to enjoy what we have now. If you write another book of short stories, I will definitely buy it. Btw I'm also a cat lover. 🐈 😍
Love this story David, I no longer have a cat partly due the number of birds that visit our garden after our last cat passed on. However after reading this and due to the extreme heat at mo in England I decided to do my yoga and meditation in the garden with my feathered friends. It is wonderful, a joy, being joined by and listening them who do not seem to be disturbed by me, carrying on around me as if I’m not there. it has also prompted me to pick up The Astral Traveler’s handbook again for a reread.
I love this story, David, and I can really relate to it - my cat Lucie used to knead my tummy for several weeks before I received a diagnosis which necessitated a major operation. Cats are simply amazing! They just KNOW! 🙏🏻🪷

Yes! We are always talking to the animals, but rarely truely listen to them!
I have had similar experience when i meditate at home. The cats and the dog are always nearby. How lovely. Thank you , David 🙏❤️🐾
